Our trainer specializes in intial ground work and first rides. Our trainer does not specialize in 30 days to a broke horse. Your horse will be given a good foundation that will carry them into new careers.

The following is an outline of the training program the horse will go through to develop a partner. Some horses learn quicker than others so the pace of training is dependent on the horse. I will not rush through my checklist just to get a horse done in 30 days. Some horses require more than 30 days for just the basics.

My goals for a green horse:

catch, halter and lead

stand tied quietly

pickup all four

exposure to rope all over the body including around the legs, feet, tail

exposure to stick, string, plastic bag on stick

exposure to fast moving children

backing up via various methods

yield quarters

I do not lunge horses but they will know how to circle and reverse direction

lateral flexing

ground work through obstacle course that includes bridge, ground poles, flapping plastic, tarp crossing

load into a horse trailer (2 horse bumper and gooseneck)

stand calmly while being saddled

mount and dismount both sides while standing still

one rein stop in any gait

ride with a loose rein

walk, trot, canter

begin taking leg cues

begin collection

exposure to farm equipment & atvs

live in a herd situation

be riding through trail obstacle course that includes bridge, ground poles, tarp crossing, flapping plastic, mailbox, etc

exposure to spray hose and spray bottle

horses will be rode in snaffle bits

Things the trainer doesn't do:

Clip or shave a horse. The horse may be exposed but no guarantee.

We only blanket horses in extreme weather. The horse may not be exposed and we may not have a blanket that fits them properly.

The horse may or may not know how to do flying lead changes.

We do not shampoo horses regularly or braided their mane and tails.

We do not train horses to be hunter/jumpers or barrel racers. You will see this equipment in our arena but they are used for more than just those sports.

There is no guarantee each horse will accomplish all these goals in 30 days. I put the partnership first.
